Camping Activities Checklist

Wondering what to bring on your next camping adventure?

The difference between a fun weekend and kicking oneself for forgetting useful items is knowing what to bring in the first place. Below is a useful checklist to help you pack for your trip. Just remember not to leave everything until the last minute!

Camping

  • All your camping requirements, such as tent, matress, sleeping bag, camp chair, cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, etc
  • Toiletries
  • Warm clothing – it can get cold there at night, quite a bit colder than Perth temperatures
  • All your food for the weekend

Kayaking

(We supply the kayaks, paddles and life jackets)

  • Clothes/bathers/wetsuits that can get wet
  • Closed in footwear that can get wet – THESE AREĀ A MUST, we may have to get out of the kayaks from time to time during our paddle and we don’t want any cut feet
  • Sunscreen and hats
  • Plenty of drinking water
  • Dry bags if you have them for storing food etc

Caving

  • Headlamp or torch. If you have a torch we suggest putting it on a lanyard so you don’t have to always hold on to it. Headlamps tend to be easier if you have one
  • Plenty of spare batteries – It’s good to carry a spare light source or spare batteries while in the cave
  • Long pants and long shirt – try to wear clothes that are hard wearing as rocks can be unforgiving to clothing. If you have a pair of overalls these are even better
  • Sturdy footwear such as hiking boots

Abseiling

  • Sturdy footwear with good grip such as hiking boots
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Sunscreen and hat
  • Plenty of water

Socializing

  • Camera with spare batteries or charger. There will be power at the ablution block
  • USB memory stick. Only if you want to share photos with other adventurers
  • Pack of cards, game of chess or favourite stories to tell around the campfire
